Claire Alice Designs - Pet Portraits & Illustrations In Bath, Somerset
Revealing a just completed painting of a beloved pet to its owner, is the best feeling in the world!
My aim being to not only portray an accurate illustration of their pet but to also capture the essence of its character and expression.
On confirmation of a commission I ask for a 50% deposit.
This can be paid through bank transfer, PayPal or by cheque.
I will then send you a scan of the completed portrait by email.
If satisfied I will then send you the portrait by registered post on receipt
of the balance (plus postage).
I can post internationally.
If you are purchasing a portrait for a friend or family member but unsure what they would like you can also purchase a voucher from me for someone as a gift. This means they can then chose exactly what they would like. This would be the perfect present for an animal lover.
If you are located in the Westcountry, or I am planning a trip your way, I would be more than happy to come and meet your dog (or cat, horse, cow, etc.) and take my own photos. The cost of fuel for my travel will be added to the price of the portrait if this is something you would like.
Meeting the animals if possible is ideal, as a picture doesn't always reflect the personality of the subject. This of course is not always possible so, many good quality pictures are essential.
All my pet illustrations are on A4.
If you would like more than 4 pets painted or simply a bigger painting please get in touch and I will send you a custom quote.
I will need one good quality photograph that clearly show the animals eyes and hair or fur, and any unique details that make them stand out from others.
You'll need to make sure the lighting is good (especially for a black or white-haired animal) with good contrast showing as much detail as possible. To get the best light for a photograph I would recommend taking a photograph outside or by window light and without flash.
