Dutch Barn Day Care for Dogs

“I feel compelled to warn fellow dog owners about my troubling experience with Dutch Barn Day Care for Dogs, Castle Howard Station Rd, Welburn, York YO60 7EW. Initially hesitant due to unclear pricing and refusal to show us the enclosure, we gave them the benefit of the doubt. However, on River’s first full-day visit, she sustained a significant injury—left untreated and unreported to us until pick-up. Clare provided no explanation, just repeatedly stating, "I don't know how it happened," with no apology or genuine concern. Following our formal complaint, Animal Licensing inspected the facility and reduced their allowed capacity from 15 dogs to a maximum of 10, requiring them to install CCTV due to inadequate supervision standards. Dog owners deserve transparency and proper care when entrusting their pets to any daycare. Based on our experience, this facility prioritises revenue over animal welfare and, in my opinion, is not fit for purpose.”
