Dogs
As dog owners ourselves we realise how important it is that your dog also enjoys his stay at Rough Top Cottage. Our welcome pack includes your dogs very own treats! Nature Garden
The nature garden has been left wild for the birds and small animals that frequent our gardens. Look out for the bird boxes and the swallows who return each summer to next in and around the stables.

There is a bug hotel hanging on the stable wall. Rabbits and hedgehogs frequent the garden and yard and look over the fence into the fields you may see curlew and lapwings, hares and the occassional passing deer.

In the early night time hours you will hear the owls and bats which live around us and up in the rocks across the road.

Reviews

“We’ve been to Roughtop twice with our Irish wolfhound and little whippet cross and are planning another visit next year as we had such a wonderful time. The cottage is equipped with everything you need, beautifully clean with lovely furnishings and has gorgeous views over the countryside. You really feel like you are in the midst of nature and get a great view of the sunsets and stars on a clear night. The dog paddock is such a bonus which our girls loved chasing around in and the cottage has plenty of space for them too so they settled in very quickly. Sandra is such a lovely welcoming host who lives close by should you need anything at all. There are lots of dog friendly pubs to visit in the area and great walks too. Highly recommend Roughtop for a wonderfully relaxing dog friendly break. ”
