- Varying distance & degrees of difficulty
The Dearne Valley Ramblers provide a wide variety of walks of varying distance and degrees of difficulty so that there is something for everyone. In addition we have a lively programme of optional social activities.
The Dearne Valley covers the area between Rotherham, Barnsley and Doncaster, and includes Swinton, Wath-upon-Dearne and Mexborough. Several of our walks are within this area, often taking advantage of the Trans-Pennine Trail and other regenerated paths and trails. Our walks outside the Dearne Valley area are equally popular. Members and none members are welcome on all walks and activities. We arrange occasional coach trips to allow walks further afield. You can view our upcoming walks and events in the blue and green panels on this page.
Our summer evening strolls sometimes end at a pub for those who wish to take refreshment.
We recommend that you bring a packed lunch on all walks which start during the morning. Dearne Valley Group of the Ramblers currently has around 100 members. Come along to some of our walks then, if you enjoy yourself, why not join?
Please note, if you are planning a holiday with Ramblers Walking Holidays, you can nominate Dearne Valley Group to receive a payment from The Walking Partnership. This costs you nothing and can help the Group's funds significantly. The nomination can be made at any time provided it is done before you actually travel
