The Roost Retreat is a comfortable, quiet and rustic holiday hideaway located in Leeming Bar, on the Gateway to the beautiful Yorkshire Dales.  Our characteristic little retreat is a wonderful eco conversion of a former Orangery and was beautifully restored, retaining the original beams into cosy and unique self-catering accommodation.

The Roost also benefits from its own separate kitchenette and a private outside patio area with chairs, table, barbeque and fire pit, exclusive to guests. We have ample off-road private, level and secure parking, a large enclosed front garden and complimentary Wi-Fi.

Sleeping up to two guests, we are the perfect holiday bolthole for couples, solo travellers, business guests and contractors working in the area. Dog friendly (up to two small dogs or one medium dog) and motorcyclists, cyclists, walkers are also very welcome. We are less than a minute walk for the Wensleydale Polar Express held in November and December and ideal for event crew staff who are looking for conveniently placed accommodation whilst working at the event.

Location
The Roost Retreat is situated in the village of Leeming Bar, just off the A684 road between Bedale and Northallerton. It on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales, also known as Herriot Country where the 1970’s TV programme “All Creatures Great and Small” was filmed. Our location is perfect for visiting the many diverse range of attractions, gardens, historic houses, walking and cycling North Yorkshire has to offer.  We are surrounded by several lovely market towns with independent shops and businesses within a short drive including Bedale, Northallerton, Masham, Leyburn, Richmond and the beautiful cathedral city of Ripon.
