We experienced Shunner on anextremelywindy day, gale force even, as the video & images show. This is a fantastic walk, with a stone path to follow all the way up & back the same way, impossible to get lost. It's a slow gentle incline, not too taxing on the leg muscles.Unfortunatelydue to the wind we didn't quite make it to the top, we thought we had when we came across a cairn which later we learnt was about 250 yards from the summit. To be honest due to the wind we were very glad to reach the cairn & what we thought the top. A very quick decent followed due to being blown back down & we were very happy to get to the warmth of the local pub, The Farmers Arms in Thwaite, great Ales welldeservedafter our windy walk.
