The Noah's Ark - Dog Friendly Pub in Lurgashall, West Sussex

The Noah’s Ark is a beautiful 16th century pub situated in the picturesque village of Lurgashall, overlooking the cricket green and nestled beneath Blackdown Hill on the borders of Surrey and West Sussex.

Full of charm and character there is a wonderfully traditional bar area with large inglenook fireplace and ancient beams, perfect for putting the world to rights in a warm and relaxed atmosphere. There are three ales, including a one regularly changing guest, and an extensive wine list.



The Noah’s Ark offers superb British food with a contemporary twist, using ingredients sourced from the very best local suppliers. Wild girolle mushrooms are picked from Henry’s Uncle Wills’ secret locations and Trout is caught from Arundel Chalk Springs....

Our menu & specials board changes frequently, and is built around the English seasons. We use the best local suppliers and wherever possible we only use ingredients that can be sourced within a 50 mile radius of Lurgashall. Everything you eat has been prepared to order and onsite by our kitchen team.



Henry Coghlan and Amy Whitmore both grew up locally and returned to their roots, taking over the reins of the Noah’s Ark in November 2006. They are both very much hands on.

Amy works very closely with South African born Head Chef Candice Chivers. Candice started her career in Johannesburg and at 16 she set up a stall outside her father's butchery, selling bakery goods.



The Noah’s Ark can cater for parties of between 12 in the small private dining room to up to 60 in the Ark Room for a canapé or buffet party.

Dogs are always welcome in the bar, and there is plenty of outside seating on the village green in and in our garden – however since we have a small kitchen and cook all food to order, it is always advisable to book if you are hoping to have lunch or supper with us.
