Whitford Sands is a wide sweep of sand at the tip of North Gower and at the mouth of the Loughor estuary. It is a great beach to take in as part of a circular walk from Cwm Ivy, through the woods, along the causeway beside the salt marsh, and back along the beach. Because it is only accessible by foot you will most likely have it to yourself even in high summer (we met 3 people in 3 hours in late July, and that was on the walk, not on the beach). A great beach combing beach and excellent for a run around with a ball or stick, or a good dig! There is a car park with an honesty box at Cwm Ivy which is nice for a picnic as well. The video gives an idea of the local terrain.
