Swansea - Dog Friendly Beach in Bishopston, Swansea

Pronounced "Poth tee" but sharing the P-Celt and phonetic resonance of Cornwall's Poldhu Cove on the Lizard Peninsula, this bay and beach are backed by a wooded ravine, known as Bishopston Valley.

The location is a mile and a half from Bishopston village, where there is parking and the beach is shingle.



I recommend approaching via the attractive Brandy Cove on the coast path to the east.

This is a fine getaway beach.

The setting is far from the holiday crowds and it's an ideal spot for bird watching and an appreciation of the natural environment and its wildlife.
