The Cockapoo Crew - Dog Walker in Chertsey, Surrey
Thankyou for visiting " The Cockapoo Crew ", my name is Michelle, based in Chertsey and surrounded by wonderful dog walks.
Areas covered - Chertsey, Addlestone, New Haw, Ottershaw
For your peace of mind I am fully insured, DBS checked, canine first aid trained and have completed an IMDT course in canine behaviour. I am a registered member of Narps Uk and have completed their course on Pet Sitting and Dog Walking.
I have been a dog owner / dog lover all my life and am the proud owner of a beautiful black cockapoo called Finley. I will take care of your dog as if it were my own.
I provide a dog walking and pop in service exclusively for Cockapoos. Walking your dog is an essential component of your dogs overall health - it enhances your dogs life and helps them become more confident and helps develop their ability to handle new situations. Safety, Socialisation, Stimulation and Fun are my top priorities. I offer a free, no obligation, initial consultation to meet your Cockapoo and discuss your needs. It is essential that you are comfortable and confident and everyone is happy with the service arranged.
Safety
Your dog will be collected from your home and walked for 1 hour. I will secure the owners premises when your dog is collected and returned.
Please supply a key to your home - purely for the use of collecting and returning your dog. Please be assured this key will be used for no other purpose and will be kept safe and returned to the owner on request.
All clients details are kept secure and keys are not labelled .
Your dog will be transported in a non liveried, air conditioned vehicle . I will use individual crates or cages . Any dogs on seats will be restrained with an appropriate harness and seatbelt.
To give each dog the attention they deserve on a walk, groups are limited to a maximum of 4 dogs.
My job is to ensure the safety of your dog but also to keep the public and myself safe. Not everbody likes dogs -if we come across anyone on our walk, I will do a group recall and dogs will sit and wait until the member of the public has passed safely.
Dogs will only be allowed off the lead with your permission and only when I am confident that I have built a relationship with your dog and have assessed their recall. I will use a long lead, increasing distances away, encouraging and rewarding interaction. Only when I am positive your dog can interact at a distance, will I take the lead off. I will use a GPS tracker for the first few off lead walks.
I carry a first aid kit and use my own ID tags.
I will always clean up after your dog and dispose of waste correctly using eco - friendly bags.
Drop off - coats will be towel dried and paws wiped if necessary.
Socialisation
Dogs love going for walks and like humans, usually like to make friends.
When you watch small groups of dogs playing, you realise what they love the most is chasing each other and burning up energy. You will quickly notice when a dog likes the company of another dog but if they are anxious or hang back, they may not like the other dogs. I will use de- escalation techniques to calm a fearful dog and practice positive reward based training methods.
Stimulation
We know dogs need socialisation and exercise, but they also need to sniff. Sniffing is a dogs primary way of getting information about the world around them which makes walks an important source of mental stimulation. Sniffing a spot is like reading a newspaper ! Your dog will be allowed to stop and sniff and not hurried along.
Fun
To ensure your dog has fun on their walk, I vary locations and use different routes at those locations. I go armed with treats and a ball or two and I facilitate, fun, safe, play.
Pop in Service
Short visit to allow your dog a toilet break, to feed them, I can also provide an enrichment game.
Prices - Group walk £12 per hour
Pop in - £6
