Westermill Farm is a traditional 500 acre working hill farm in the heart of Exmoor with a camping site & self-catering cottages. Six cosy cottages nestle in grass paddocks on the farm, heated by our eco-friendly wood-chip biomass boiler using wood grown locally. Each cottage has a wood-burning stove for the full country cottage effect. The cottages sleep up to eight people, in two, three and four bedroom cottages. All cottages are two-storey apart from Gorse which is single storey. Dogs and horses are welcome, grazing is available.

New Holly (sleeps  4-5)
New Holly shares many of the features of our other cottages with the warmth and style of wooden interiors. This is enhanced with a new, beautiful slate floor throughout the downstairs, with the added luxury of underfloor heating. Full central heating and hot water produced by our eco friendly bio mass boiler fueled by wood grown on the farm. Holly has it’s own parking space at the side of the cottage. This leads onto a veranda along the front of the cottage and continues around the East side, providing a lovely spacious raised area in amongst the larch trees, all covered in with a slate roof. A solid wood table and chairs sit below a quirky hanging light made from cattle drinking troughs. During evening and night time, to add atmosphere or to simple guide you the the door, a trail of small ground level LED spot lights run along the veranda floor.

Whortleberry Cottage (sleeps 4)
Whortleberry is one of our smaller cottages sleeping up to 4 people. It is situated in the bottom paddock next to Ling cottage and faces south. It sits beside a small larch copse which usually hosts a large number of wild birds. Whortleberry cottage is named after the blue whortleberry which grows wild on Exmoor. There is a verandah ideal for sitting out on summer evenings (or even winter!) looking up at Exmoor’s famous Dark Sky.

Ling (sleeps 4)
Ling is one of our smaller cottages sleeping up to 4 people. It is situated in the bottom paddock next to Whortleberry cottage with a little brook running along side. The cottage is named after a heather which carpets the moorland, turning to a vivid pinky/purple during August. A comfortable verandah looks out towards the river and a beautiful ancient oak tree.

Gorse (sleeps 7-8)
Gorse can sleep up to 7 people and has real log cabin appeal. It is our remaining original log cabin (sourced from Finland and built by the Edwards family), which has recently had a little revamp – increasing the kitchen size, making it a more open plan setting, perfect for a family getaway. It is a single storey structure with a veranda. Inside, there are two shallow steps leading up to two of the bedrooms and bathrooms. The newly refurbished bathroom now has a larger shower with glass sliding doors, small basin and loo. There is a second loo also with a small basin.

Molina (sleeps 7)
Molinia cottage is named after a moorland grass and is one of our larger cottages, the cottage can sleep up to 7 people. A shallow stream runs beside the cottage. The living area consists of a comfy green sofa, with two TV style chairs with wooden arms. There is a pine table, with farmhouse style chairs, and a bench seat situated underneath the window. There is a TV with a DVD player, plus a wood burning stove.
