The Dog Friendly Cottages

Middlewick is an early sixteenth century Grade II listed farmstead. The original farmhouse and outbuildings have been painstakingly restored and enhanced to provide a range of comfortable accommodation that is attractive and sympathetic to the unspoiled beauty of the mid Somerset countryside. Using natural stone and timber the interiors of all cottages are a blend of old and new.

All cottages are self contained with fully equipped kitchens. The larger cottages have washing machines and dishwashers. There is also a communal laundry room with tumble dryer. There is an onsite Farm shop selling home reared pork, vegetables and fruits and eggs from the Middlewick Chickens.

Also on the property are 2 Glamping Cabins which are located in the ancient orchard of Middlewick. These are ideal for those looking to camp but wanting the luxury of a bed and private bathroom. Our E-dens are fully heated so perfect for all year round. These are very popular with dog owners as they get to enjoy the great outdoors together.

Bedding and towels are provided although you may want to bring a swimming towel if you plan to use the pool.

Meadow Barn, the Annex and Tor View have natural wood burning stoves for heating. We supply a few logs to get you started and then you may purchase more if required from our on site Farm Shop.

Blenheim and Bramley and The Annex and Meadow Barn can be linked via a shared hall - making them perfect for those wishing to share a space whilst maintaining a degree of privacy.

The heated indoor swimming pool and steam room are perfect for relaxing after a day of walking, cycling, site-seeing, communing with nature, or shopping at the nearby Clarkes Retail Village.

The complex is away from the road and has ample private on-site parking so there is very little passing traffic.

Reviews

“What a wonderful stay at Middlewick. We brought our two children and had a fab family break in Glastonbury. We loved the swimming pool and steam room, the cosy cottages and the friendly welcome from the owners and the animals at Middlewick - Maggie the dog and Benji the goat were particular hits with our kids! Glastonbury itself is magical, full of mystery, history and the coolest shops.”

“Dear Middlewick... I wish to say thank you very much for the stay at your cottages. Your kind welcome and the comfortable surroundings made for a happy break from the rat-race. Thank you once again and have a good year. David & Miki”

“A much need break away coincided with discovering this little haven by chance on the internet. We didn't look any further and the moment we arrived we knew we had made the right choice. We have never felt so relaxed, so at peace or slept better, not to mention Wendy's legendry breakfast (we couldn't understand what the fuss was about until we sampled our own - beautiful! We walked to the Tor this morning, then in to the High Street and back home with Jim, the taxi driver. (Recommended by the staff at MapleLeaf Middlewick). And what a sweetie!! He gave us a grand tour with lots of funny tales in to the bargain. Last night we went to the Riverside Indian Restaurant ...very nice! Departing now and although looking forward to seeing our three little boys it hasn't seemed enough time to get to know this really magical, beautiful part of the world! We will hopefully be back soon with our kids, grandparents and brother/sister!! (Don't think they will need much persuasion). Thank you for making us feel so welcome and comfortable and our stay such a very happy one celebrating out 10th wedding anniversary. With love and thanks, Mandy & Matt”
