Nestled in rural Somerset sits Cossington Park, a beautiful dog friendly house and cottage with a long and fascinating history owned by the same family for over 400 years. Whether you’re here for a celebration, a reunion, or a peaceful retreat, you’re sure to enjoy the beautifully decorated bedrooms, the exceptional service, and the abundance of activities both on and off site. By offering two properties on-site, we can cater for a variety of party sizes.

Cossington Park Estate – sleeps up to 18 adults, 9 children and 5 dogs
Cossington Park House - sleeps up to 12 adults, 7 children and 3 dogs
Cossington Park Cottage sleeps up to 6 adults, 2 children and 2 dogs

Surrounded by 22 acres of beautiful grounds for you and your dog(s) to enjoy. 
On-site and off-site activities to suit a vast range of ages and interests, Child friendly, pet friendly and friendly to those with special needs.
 There are some excellent walks from the house and lots of space in the paddock for you and your dog to enjoy a run around.

Our Welcome
When you arrive for your stay at Cossington Park, our house becomes yours. We invite you to make yourselves at home in the warm embrace of this special house and explore all the delights and surprises the house and gardens have to offer. On arrival you will find what you need for an end-of-journey cup of tea or glass of wine…
… and a generous hamper of West Country treats to get you started, plus, your dog gets its own hamper too! – which can be supplemented with a pre-ordered food delivery which we will take in and store for you.

You will find a file packed full of information about the house and equipment as well as things to see and do. One of us (wearing a Cossington Park badge) will pop along to see you at a pre-arranged time to make sure that you and your guests have all you need and to answer any questions.

Cossington Park House
The house contains six bedrooms - three bedrooms are in the oldest part of the house (Chaucer, The Nursery and The Trusty Servant) and the other three are in the 1901 wing (Jolly Monks, The Cobbler and The Pump Room). All the bedrooms, most of which are named after their unusual bronze doorknockers, have period furniture and are thoughtfully decorated. The house also has 4 good bathrooms. On the ground floor you will find the drawing room with its old oak beams and French windows, the dining room which seats 22, a library full of books and the farmhouse-style kitchen complete with larder, scullery and pantry. There are log burners in both the library and the drawing room.

Cossington Park Cottage
The cottage has three bedrooms (one of which is on the ground floor and can be made up as a twin or double room depending on requirements) as well as a large walk-in shower room with wheelchair access. Upstairs, the Kennedy room can be made into a twin or double room depending on requirements, and the Hobbs double room overlooks the courtyard. Each room has super-comfortable beds and soft white towels.
The cottage has a well equipped kitchen and diner area, an open plan living room providing a relaxed and contemporary living space with TV, and retractable doors which extends out onto the private decking and garden with dining furniture and a BBQ, perfect for al fresco dining.

Border terrier Max, who features in our dogs video, regularly checks Cossington Park out for other canine friends and ensures that our gardens are great fun!

On-site Activities
The house and grounds provide guests with a wonderful environment in which to do very little! If you are up for some activity, there is plenty you can do without going very far:

Indoor games for children and adults - Games room with table tennis and darts
Croquet on the main lawn - Badminton - Football in the meadow

And we can arrange on-site for you:
Archery – on the lawn for small groups of guests
Falconry – a stunning display on the main lawn; learn about birds of prey, watch them fly, hold one yourself, Beauty treatments – aroma-therapy and massages, with champagne, in the comfort of Cossington Park, Vintage clotted cream teas – and a game of croquet on the lawns

Wine tasting evenings 
Interactive cookery demonstrations – perhaps combined with a trip to a spa,  Family bonding – discovery, dream-building and togetherness! Murder mystery evenings or A caricaturist or quiz-master – providing light-hearted entertainment for dinner parties and special occasions.
