Christmas at Cheddar - Cheddar Gorge & Caves

What's On?
'Live' demonstrations & talks: Meet our hunter-gatherers in the Museum of Prehistory. Throughout the day, you’ll have the chance to discover how Cheddar Man and his ancestors lived and survived here 10,000 years ago.

Our talks and demonstrations will be brought to life by our team of hunter-gatherers who love to pass on their knowledge and bring the Stone Age era to life.

After the sessions, there will be a chance to ask our knowledgeable hunter-gatherers questions about life in the Stone Age and photo opportunities for those wanting to dress up in prehistoric costume.

Museum of Prehistory Session and Activity Timings - your Day Ticket gives you access to all of these activities:

Fire Lighting demos - Witness how ancient humans would have started making fire, a skill essential for their survival and development.

Stones - Tool Making talks - Discover how early humans crafted survival tools, showcasing their ingenuity and resourcefulness.

Bones - Archaeological Dig Box Fun - Try your hand at being an archaeologist and see what you can unearth in our Dig Boxes!

NB. Please note, our outdoor demonstrations are subject to daily weather conditions. Where possible, we will move the talks and demos inside the museum.
