Join in the Halloween family fun this October Half-Term at Cheddar Gorge & Caves.

Running from 26th October – 3rd November 2024, we are hosting a fun and ‘spooktacular’ skeleton trail and Halloween themed party.

‘Skele-brate’ Halloween at Cheddar Gorge & Caves

Cheddar Man, our resident skeleton who lives in Gough’s Cave (he’s very old … 10,000 years old!) has invited his skeleton friends to visit him this Halloween half-term and join a ‘spine-tingling’ party.

To get an invite to the party, you must join the trail in Gough’s Cave. This is no ordinary skeleton trail as they have brought along their skeletal creature friends who you must find. Once you’ve found them all, you’ll gain entry to our fun ‘skele-brations’, where you’ll be rewarded with a Halloween badge and treated to themed party games and arts and crafts.
Dogs are welcome too so everyone can join in the fun.

Skeleton facts at Cheddar Gorge & Caves: Did you know Cheddar Man’s remains were found here in Gough’s Cave over 100 years ago! He is Britain’s oldest most complete human skeleton ever found! He lived here more than 10,000 years ago! You can even see a life-size replica of Cheddar Man inside the cave.

This experience is included in the price of your Day Ticket, so you can enjoy six exciting attractions and our Halloween activities. Explore Gough’s Cave, our spectacular stalactite show cave where Cheddar Man was unearthed and find out about his amazing DNA discovery. Discover our new multimedia experience, ‘Yeo’s Journey’ in Cox’s Cave that tells the captivating story of how our iconic caves were formed and evolved through the ‘power of water’. Learn how our ancestors lived and survived in the Museum of Prehistory. Find out more about the local history, wildlife and plants in our Beyond the View cinema experience. Venture up the 274 steps of Jacob’s Ladder to The Lookout Tower and the Cliff-Top Walk where you will enjoy stunning views of the gorge and Mendip Hills - a landscape that has been millions of years in the making!
