Cheddar Gorge and Caves
 
Explore Britain's biggest gorge from the dramatic cliffs rising 450ft to the stunning stalactite caverns. This world-famous beauty spot is in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is a Site of Special Scientific Interest. The cliffs above, and the caves deep below, reveal many fascinating stories of our prehistoric ancestors, and is an international centre for caving and rock climbing.

A great day out for families, dogs and dog lovers, nature and history lovers, and outdoor adventurers.

Dogs are welcome in all six of our exciting attractions - Gough's Showcave, Cox's Cave featuring Dreamhunters, The Museum of Pre-History, Beyond the View cinematic experience, Jacob's Ladder & The Lookout Tower, and the stunning 3 mile Cliff-Top Walk.

Summer and Special Events

Come and join us this summer and enjoy a wide range of activities and events suitbable for all ages. Walking with our Ancestors is a fun and educational event running through the school holidays. Journey back in time and go walkabout on our interactive  tribal trails, Watch  'Live' prehistoric demos and talks, dress up in pre-historic costume and lots more. There’s so much to see and do at Cheddar Gorge and Caves, you’re definitely going to need to take a break, catch your breath and refuel.

Make sure you stop off for a light lunch or delicious snack at Gough's Cafe - proud to serve Costa coffee. You can sit back, relax and just take in the beauty of your surroundings.
