Dating from 1750 The Border Hotel offers a welcome sight to the discerning traveller. Its commanding position at the head of the village green catches the imagination with its traditional thatched roof and eye catching frontage. It’s walls steeped in a rich history exude a magnetic draw and envelop the visitor into it.

A warm friendly welcome awaits you as you enter the cosy bar with its fine selection of beverages to enjoy in front of the roaring open fire while the tempting menu our chefs have created using local produce offers a fine selection of freshly prepared and well presented dishes to satisfy the hungry traveller.

Accommodation
The Border Hotel has Six en suite guest rooms, individually named after local places of interest.
They are named after local rivers and hills close to the hotel which you may travel on or over to get to us.

All six rooms are charming, quiet and comfortable and offer choices of doubles or twins and a family room, all have baths and showers.

Two are bedroom suites with large living area, one bathroom with small kitchenet, great for families with pets.

There is WiFi available in all areas of the hotel

Restaurant
Our head chef is skilled and passionate about genuine home cooked food using locally sourced produce. Customers can come and enjoy a menu which alters to suit the seasons and availability of the ingredients.
Scottish Borders farms supply eggs, vegetables, meat and cereals.

You can eat near the bar exchanging stories with the locals. Alternatively, we have the Fishermans room and the conservatory. Especially pleasant in the summer months are the tables in the outdoor garden area leading out from the conservatory.

A smaller private room for around 12 is great for a family/friend gathering.
