Rutland Rural Retreats - Adult only, dog friendly glamping in Rutland

Nestled in an area of beautiful undulating hills, Rutland Rural Retreats is a very small, adult only, super dog friendly, rural glamping site which came to life in July 2022 when owners Clare Farmer and Kirsty Brooks opened the doors to share this peaceful, tranquil haven with others. With just two glamping pods and one Shepherds Hut, all discreetly sited for privacy and with enclosed gardens, you truly can just relax and unwind for that romantic escape and with your canine companions at your side.

Set off the beaten track, secluded from view within a private 4 acre meadow and bordered by an array of hedgerows, trees and brooks. This small, adult only, dog friendly, glamping retreat has just 3 hand crafted, en-suite, heated, glamping units, ideal for that romantic break, time out from the world, well earned rest or just that chance to combine the great outdoors, your canine companions and a touch of luxury.

With stock and rail enclosed gardens and plenty of space and greenery between both pods and Shepherds Rest, you and your canine companions can relax in comfort, away from prying eyes. Nervous or reactive dogs, no problem. Reviews speak for themselves with Woodpecker being our furthest and a firm favourite for those with canine companions that need a little extra space.

New for 2025, access is now directly available from the meadow onto the miles of stock free footpaths and bridleways. Fenced off from livestock, this is ideal for our more nervous and reactive pawsome guests.

Also new for 2025, Bumblebee fencing increased from 1m to just over 1.5m so the more athletic paws amongst you can enjoy a visit too.

Glamping Pods (Woodpecker and Bumblebee)
Both glamping pods are fully insulated, enjoy underfloor heating, en-suites, heated towel rail, flushing mains toilet & electric shower; kitchenette with fridge/freezer, two ring hob, combi oven/microwave; double bed, leather sofa, moveable dining table and side table.

Outside. each Pod has its own enclosed garden, 1m high for Woodpecker and 1.5m high for Bumblebee; sun loungers, fire pit, picnic table, storage box & rattan seats for enjoying that early morning cuppa on the decking!

To help with your packing....a fan, hairdryer, dog bowls, dog mat, doggy tipee, dog toys & board games, books, walking guides and torch are also provided as well as all the kitchen utensils you may need, shower gel, hand wash. Tea Towels and condiments.

Everything you need to enjoy a relaxing stay and unwind when not getting out and about in the beautiful Rutland countryside.

Shepherds Hut (Shepherds Rest) with wood fired hot tub
Shepherds Rest is also fully insulated with underfloor heating, en-suite with heated towel rail, flushing mains toilet & electric shower, kitchenette with fridge/freezer, two ring hob, full oven; King size bed as well as a single pull out leather sofa bed (for people preferring separate sleeping arrangements), and pull down dining table.

Outside there is a large, 1m high stock and rail fencing, enclosed garden, sun loungers, fire pit, picnic table, storage box and comfy seats.

All the usuals - fan, hairdryer, dog bowls, dog mat, doggy tipee, dog toys & board games, books, walking guides and torch are also provided as well as all the kitchen utensils you may need, shower gel, hand wash. Tea towels and condiments.
