Best beaches for dogs in Wales With over 870 miles of Welsh coastpath to explore, why not take your faithful dog to a day out at the beach?
A large majority of beaches throughout Wales accept pets all year round; however some of the more popular beaches do have some dog restrictions, normally between April and September. In North Wales, a perfect beach for families and pets is Traeth Llydan, which is found to the south of Rhosneigr in Anglesey.
The beach has no restrictions for dogs at all, meaning he/she, as well as your family, can enjoy the spectacular 1.5 mile’s worth of sand that the beach offers. For that extra bit of exercise for your dog, take them running through the sand dunes that surround the beach. If you’re already in the area, be sure to visit the nearby Maelog Lake. As a natural wildlife area, please keep your dog on a lead whilst walking along the tranquil footpath.
