Newport Parrog
The River Nevern winds its way through this beach of sand, pebble and rock pools. A delightful stretch of coastline has fabulous views. The Coast Path twists and turns its way round to the old lifeboat station, sometimes on the beach, sometimes on the road and at one point crosses a fantastic causeway built of slates laid in a herringbone pattern. It's possible to wade across the river near the yacht club to Newport sands. The walk back round the long way takes you alongside the estuary to the bridge. Near here is Carreg Coetan, an exposed ancient burial chamber.
Parking: Limited parking by the yacht club. More parking near the Tourist Information Centre.
Beach facilities: Slipway
On shore facilities: Toilets and a cafe near the yacht club.
