Freshwater West - Dog Friendly Beach in Castlemartin, Pembrokeshire
Freshwater West beach is a two mile stretch of golden sand in Pembrokeshire.
The shingle upper reaches are backed by mature dunes and the beach enjoys the full force of the North Atlantic, making it Wales' best surfing beach, one to treat with respect when swimming here.
The rocky reef at the southern end creates a wilder ambience than the quiet bays to the north.
This iconic beach was recently showcased in "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows", as well as Ridley Scott's 2009 re-make of "Robin Hood".
