Le Vieux Café Holiday Home, 15km from the Vendee coast. Family friendly house, with heated pool, games room, gardens & views across the Marais. with 3 bedrooms- ideal for family friendly holidays and set in the heart of the Vendée, only 20 minutes from the beautiful sandy beaches of La Faute sur Mer.

At the turn of the twentieth century Le Vieux Café was the hub of village life as it used to be the local restaurant and café. It has undergone many changes over the years and is now laid out as a comfortable three-bedroom holiday home - perfect for family holidays.



The house contains many of its original exposed stone walls and wooden beams, along with all modern home comforts. Outside there is a private seating area for up to 8 guests with a BBQ and pergola - perfect for relaxing after a long day of lying by the pool!

In the living room you will find a TV with UK and French satellite TV channels, a DVD player, a CD/radio player with USB connections for MP3 players. There is also free secure Fibre Internet access. The living room comfortably seats 8 guests.

The kitchen is fully equipped with dishwasher, washing machine, microwave & electric oven, along with plenty of crockery & cutlery for everyone - there is also a range of plastic plates, beakers, cutlery and bowls for younger guests. The dining table can extend to seat 8/10 guests. Leading from the kitchen is a ground floor shower room with a corner shower cubilce, hand basin and WC. A high chair and booster seat are available for young children.

Upstairs, there are three bedrooms. The large master bedroom (30m²) has a double bed, single bed and large wardrobe and views across to the village church. A cot is also provided in this room for younger children. The other two bedrooms each have two single beds - one room can be made into double bed if needed, and a third single bed can be placed in the other twin room if required.



The garden is set on four different levels with the top level containing the large courtyard for parking, a grassy area for relaxation and a boules court for your amusement. There is also secure garage parking for visitors arriving on motorbikes.

A gentle slope then takes you down to the enclosed 12m x 7m heated swimming pool where you can relax in the sun or if you’re feeling energetic swim a few lengths. For younger children we also have lots of inflatables and water wings for those learning to swim. There are sun loungers and pergola for your comfort. The pool is heated from May until the end of September each year.

The games room is situated opposite the pool area and is available for all guests to use during their stay. You will find many amusements here, such as table tennis, table football, board games, books, DVD library, and a TV area where you are free to use the Xbox 360. Paints, pencils & crayons are also supplied, along with dressing up costumes.

We have now installed a mini gym for those keep fit fanatics! All guests have use of a cross trainer, a treadmill, exercise bike, rowing machine and abdominal cruncher. 

Beyond the swimming pool and down a few steps you’ll find our organic vegetable garden, where only the hardworking should venture! Wellies will be provided for anyone who would like to help out! We use much of the fruit & vegetables when preparing meals for our guests - organic and no carbon footprint!

Beyond the vegetable garden lies the extensive lower garden where the children can run & play in safety. A relaxing sofa and low table is set in the garden, surrounded by wild flowers, and in the evening you can watch the sun set over the Marais and listen out for the extensive range of birds that live in the gardens – including the Tawny Owls that have a nest box in one of our trees and the Hoopoes that visit in the spring.
