Monastery Barn - Dog Friendly Accommodation in Shutford, Oxfordshire

Monastery Barn is set in a quiet village location within the Oxfordshire Cotswolds, a short distance from Banbury, Chipping Norton and Stratford-upon-Avon. The Barn is presented to a high standard, having been refurbished using quiet colours, stone and wood so as to create a relaxing and cosy atmosphere for between 6-8 guests and up to 4 dogs. Parking in the Courtyard for up to 4 cars. A wide range of creature comforts have been incorporated to make your stay with us comfortable and enjoyable.

Retaining many period features along with some new contemporary touches, the large ground floor opens out into the walled garden and has the feeling of being 'open plan'.

Doggies – Doggie Toy Basket – Outdoor Doggie Shower - Walkies
A basket of doggie toys, cooling pads, shampoos, books of dog tricks & a bowl of water will be ready to greet your doggie/s on arrival. The garden is doggie safe, secure & totally enclosed with solid fencing that is over 6ft high. In front of the fencing are trees & bushes. We have an outdoor doggie/boot water hand shower & a doggie hairdryer/towels in the Utility Room.

In our Welcome Pack we have maps of the local dog walks both short & long - Shutford Village Trail & Circular Walk, Shenington & Alkerton Walk, Sibford & Swerford Walk, Broughton Castle/Moat parkland grounds, Compton Verney (NT) - all local in the next villages.

On the edge of our village, recently opened is Buddy & Beau Dog Fields where your dogs can run, play, sniff to their hearts content. 2 acres of undulating mown grassland with secure 6ft perimeter fencing to give you the peace of mind that your dog can roam safely while you relax and take in the views from the "Shelter" seating area. Our previous four- legged guests have included St Bernard’s, Irish Wolfhounds, Red Setters, German & Belgian Shepherds, Labradors, Spaniels, Poodles, Terriers, Cockerpoo's, Beagles, Pugs & Dachshunds. The majority of the local pubs are very dog friendly with bowls of water in front of the bar & doggie biscuits behind the bar.
