“I recently had to send my beloved old lady to Rainbow Bridge. Making this decision was one of the hardest decisions I have ever had to make. I knew how I wanted my dog to go, but I had massive concerns. I wanted her euthanized at home that was a definite, as she hated going to the vets as most dogs do. I did not want her to go through any unnecessary stress at this time. It had to be as relaxed and as peaceful as possible for her. I arranged for the vet to come home which was easily arranged, but what would happen afterwards plagued me. These were some of my concerns; how long will she be at the vets before she got picked up to go to the crematorium? How many other animals would be with her? How would she be stored? How do I know it is my dogs ashes I get back? Can I be sure it would be an individual cremation? Would it be dignified? How would she be handled by the van driver that picked her up and so on! It bothered me so much, I then looked on line and this is where I came across Animals at Home and their Animals at rest option they offer. I sent an email late one evening and Margaret called me the next morning and put my mind at rest immediately when she explained the process, therefore I arranged for Margaret to come to my home about half a hour after the vet was due to attend. On the day, which is now a blur in my mind, the vet called and said that she was going to be arriving within 5 minutes which was at least 30 minutes earlier than arranged. I said to the vet that this was ok. I called Margaret to ask her if she could arrive sooner which she agreed to without hesitation. Pippa was put to sleep on the sofa in my arms, it was so peaceful, but hugely upsetting as you expect. We all said our goodbyes to her in the time we had before Margaret was due to arrive. Margaret arrived spot on time in a professional van / pet ambulance, she asked what my old girls name was and approached her as she lay on the sofa. She approached her with a gentle manner and stroked her whilst saying her name, it was so lovely, moving and sympathetic. I immediately trusted Margaret after all she was to be entrusted with my best friend of 10 years and take her on her final journey. She swept her up into her arms and held her close and placed her in the ambulance with love, care and the dignity she deserved. Margaret then said that she would take her straight to the crematorium and ensure she was ok. I received a call later that day from her explaining that everything went as planned and she would be back late morning the next day with her ashes. The next day as planned, Margaret delivered my beloved lady back home in her beautiful little tube covered in bluebells with a card telling me that she was cremated the same day as she arrived. Plus I received a guarantee that it was Pippa's ashes from Forget me Notts pet crematorium. I cannot thank Margaret at Animals at Home Nottingham and Forget me Notts pet crematorium enough for making this painful process so smooth and dignified. I would not hesitate in using Margaret's services and would 100% recommend to all my animal loving friends. With huge thanks and respect Debbie ”
