Langley Dam Glamping - Dog Friendly Glamping in Hexham, Northumberland
Nestled in the Tyne Valley, on our beef and sheep farm, at the edge of the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty Langley Dam Glamping provides high quality, en-suite accommodation in our unique glamping cabins.
The six ‘Langley Longboat’ cabins are positioned on the bank of Langley Dam Reservoir, providing exceptional views over the 14 acres of water and towards Whitfield moor. Langley Dam itself is a commercial fly fishery and Troutmaster water. Visitors are welcome, and encouraged, to enjoy the fishing experience that the water provides (charges do apply, but residents have discounted fishing fees). We also have rowing boats that can be hired for fishing purposes.
Here is a selction of our dog friendly cabins........
Humbleton (sleeps 4)
Humbleton cabin is positioned nearest to the glamping car park. It is our cabin that is designed to be accessible to anyone with mobility needs, but is as well-equipped as all our other cabins, so that any visitor can enjoy their stay in it. If you have children that are reluctant to share a double bed then this may also be the cabin for you as the sleeping arrangements are different from our other cabins. We have ensured that the path from the car park to this cabin is concrete (not gravel) to aid the passage of wheelchairs. We have ensured level access between the path and the stable-style door of the cabin, which is also wide enough for wheelchair access.

Wheatley's (sleeps 4 adults + under 12)
Wheatley’s cabin is positioned behind and slightly further up the bank from Blackcleugh and The Wonnies. The private decking area at the front of the cabin leads down to your own gravelled area to the side, allowing an unhindered view over the lake towards ‘Bristol Lodge’ – the one time home of the author Catherine Cookson. Here there is seating provided around a firepit/BBQ.

Blackcleugh (sleeps 4 adults + under 12)
Blackcleugh is our cabin that is positioned nearest to the bank of Langley Dam; providing unhindered views of the beautiful fishing lake. This cabin sleeps up to 4 adults, or up to 4 adults and one child under 12 years old. The fixed king sized bed has a proper comfortable mattress. This sleeping area can be curtained off from the rest of the living space where there is a king sized double sofa bed. The private decking at the front of the cabin leads down to your own gravelled area where there is seating provided around a firepit/BBQ, so you can make the most of those long evenings around the fire enjoying the fantastic views.

Children's Play Area
We also have a children’s play area on site for our guests to enjoy. This is suitable for children between approximately 3 and 12 years old. It has been designed and built by Langley Furniture Works and follows our nautical theme – the play area includes a cargo net, slide, balance beams, small boat and raised boat platform for fantastic imaginative pirate play!! The play area is situated nearest to the Wheatley’s cabin so this may be the best choice if you have small children in your party (or not if you don’t?!).
Fishing
The glamping site overlooks our outstanding fly fishing lake. 14 acres of natural water stocked with strong rainbow trout. We also offer a fishery discount for glampers.
