Big House Holiday Lets - Dog Friendly Holiday Homes
In Wye Valley And Forest Of Dean
We are the area’s leading provider of large holiday homes and cottages for extended families, 3 generation celebrations, birthday and anniversary get togethers. If our properties are suitable stag groups or parties we’ll say so – we love our neighbours and we want them to love us back.
Fairlea Grange
Fairlea Grange is a historic holiday home in Wales. This imposing Gothic Townhouse located in Abergavenny was once the childhood home of Ethel Lina White, whose book The Wheel Spins was adapted by Alfred Hitchcock into the classic hit movie, The Lady Vanishes. It is now a large holiday house available to rent for celebrations and get-togethers with family or friends.
Fairlea Grange is a 10 bedroom house which comfortably sleeps 12 – 24 people, with a couple of additions in z beds plus 2 cots for infants.
Holly Tree House
An ideal pet-friendly cottage for large group holidays, Holly Tree House provides accommodation in picturesque Symonds Yat, offering an idyllic retreat from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
Full of character, on the edge of the woods at the end of a private lane this beautiful three storey Victorian house nestles in the heart of the Wye Valley with stunning views over the wonderful River Wye and up to famous Yat Rock. This holiday home sleeps 12 – 22 people in 9 bedrooms. The large dining room comfortably seats everyone round one table.
It combines genuine peace and quiet (apart from the sound of the river) and absolutely no traffic, with loads to do nearby. It’s comfortable, totally safe for children and pets, has open fires, stunning views and a hot tub. It’s little wonder our guests return time and again. Well behaved pets welcome.
River Wye Lodge
With its face turned to the River Wye, birthplace of tourism in the UK, and it’s back to the dramatic Royal Forest of Dean, River Wye Lodge could not be better placed for a fantastic self catering holiday in the Forest of Dean or Wye Valley. We’ve converted this country inn to provide the space, location and facilities which will ensure you have a truly memorable time.
Indoors there’s more than enough space to sleep 26 in 12 bedrooms. 10 of the bedrooms have glorious views of the River Wye.
For families there’s a wood-chipped playground to the front of the cottage overlooked by a terrace where you can enjoy the good weather. There’s also a hot tub to relax in.
Highcloud Farm
Stylish and spacious, Highcloud Farm comprises a farmhouse and barn, sleeping up to 24 in 10 bedrooms. With panoramic rural views amidst rolling Welsh hills and forest, you can see the ruins of Raglan Castle in mid distance and a backdrop of Sugarloaf Mountain, it creates a fantastic atmosphere to see the sun set from the terrace and outdoor swimming pool (summer only).
Set in a remote 30 acre site, you experience a natural calm and quiet, but with plenty of things to do on-site. With large fields, woodland, and an orchard joined together by a grassy path suitable for either walking or jogging. There are sun terraces, a veranda, a croquet lawn and grassy area for ball games.
Orchard House
Deep in a hidden Valley, Orchard House is part of a farm where cider apples are grown and Spanish horses are bred and classically trained. The owners live in the nearby converted barns. The extensive grounds contain fields, walking trails, 40 acres of cider apple trees and the beautiful Gaer Wood (Gaer meaning Fort) unimpeded views of the Brecon Beacons, and in springtime an unbeatable display of the increasingly rare British Bluebell – it’s worth visiting for the scent alone.
The house is a luxurious, light-filled, 10 bedroom, 8 bathroom retreat with games room, large screen tv room, easy accessed disabled facilities and panoramic views without traffic or noise. For lovers of “Dark Skies” and unspoiled countryside it’s a rare gem. For this reason it is not suitable for amplified music or raucous parties
The Anchor
Set in the heart of Lydbrook in the Forest of Dean and previously know as The Anchor Inn, this cosy village pub, which dates back to the 15th century, is now a charmingly converted holiday cottage designed as accommodation for large groups.
Complete with bar and woodburning stoves, we’ve done our best to retain the feel and ambience of the old Anchor Inn while modernising sympathetically. For an outdoor, activity or family holiday you couldn’t be better placed.
The Portland
The Portland is a big holiday cottage that sleeps 12 – 22. It is a spacious Grade II Georgian House positioned in an idyllic village setting. On the cusp of three beautiful counties (Herefordshire, Monmouthshire and Gloucestershire) and close enough to offer great Symonds Yat accommodation.
There are amazing rural views from most of the 8 beautiful en suite bedrooms (one including a four poster bed). This big holiday cottage has a large enclosed garden making it dog friendly should you want to bring your pets along.
If you fancy a long soak in the evening after a hard day’s activity there is a hot tub available on request. There are also disabled sleeping/bathing facilities to ensure everyone is catered for.
