Ventnor Botanic Garden - Britain Hottest Garden
Open all year round, although we are closed on Christmas Day, Ventnor Botanic Garden boasts an impressive collection of over 30,000 rare and sub-tropical plants and trees. Spread across 22 acres of gardens, our plantings are based on geographical regions from around the Globe.
Ventnor Botanic Garden is located in the unique microclimate of the Ventnor Undercliff which is on average 5 degrees warmer than Mainland UK – we really are ‘Britain’s hottest garden!’ In fact, we had 272 different plants in bloom on New Year’s Day 2020.
Botanists, amateur gardeners, and nature lovers alike love to visit Ventnor Botanic Garden. So whether you’re planning a day out for the family, seeking exotic inspiration for your lawn borders or you want to learn a little more about the world of botany; we’ve got it covered.
Eat & Drink
Here at Ventnor Botanic Garden, we pride ourselves in the food we offer our guests. From our breakfast through to lunch with cakes and light bites in between in our Plantation Room Café. To exquisite cuisine and fine dining or our Summer downers with the popular Tavern Nights in our edulis Restaurant.
We have something for everyone, no matter your diet. We can even offer you bespoke cuisine for your special event, business lunch or conference with our in-house catering options – buffet to a sit down 4-course meal, or even a BBQ in during the summer months.
Dog Friendly
We’re delighted to welcome well-behaved dogs and owners to the garden for daily walks or one-off visits. There’s no need to leave your dog at home or worse, in the car, but please respect the gardeners and other garden visitors and keep them on their lead. Also, please remember to clear up any mess after your dog.
You’ll find a number of water bowls around the Garden as well as a dog litter bin in the car park, by the toilets.
