The Sun Inn

“DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOG HERE! We took our dogs when we saw it was a dog friendly pub. After saying we didn’t want to sit outside as it was too sunny for the dogs we were taken all the way through the pub to the hottest end (surrounded in windows with poor/broken blinds). We asked for our drinks and water for the dogs, then no one came for at at least 15 minutes. When they finally came they brought some of our drinks and we asked to please have the water next for the dogs asap, the waiter responded with the worst attitude saying ‘I only have 2 hands’ and stormed off. We had also asked if there was somewhere cooler to sit (as there was no one else inside the pub at the time) to which the same guy gave a snappy response of ‘no, we’re fully booked’ which we accepted but by the time we left after our meal only 2 tables were in use. ”

“Once you have found the Sun Inn you will always return, fantastic food, dog friendly and a roaring fire. Great choice of drink, warm atmosphere and friendly locals who make you feel at home. This is a great pub for couples , family or coach groups. The quality of food and speed of its delivery really did impress us and we were on our honeymoon... A MUST VISIT A*”

One of my favourite pubs on the island is the Sun Inn at Hulverstone. I visited it at least 3 times on my visit (15 days) very recently and the beer, food and landlord were always very nice. Long may it thrive. The Sun Inn at Hulverstone was not always a pub - thanks heavens it still is.”

“Just to say thank you. The table I booked for eleven people the other day was arranged lovely in a square as I requested. (makes it easier for conversation). Everybody enjoyed their meal, my Husband said "the best veggie curry he had ever eaten out" Compliments to the Chef and kitchen staff. The service was excellent, all meals arriving together, no one had to wait. This is a meal we arrange every year for the Family. This year we were not disappointed in anything. Thank you once again. We would like to thank the Lady who made our day feel very special with all the decorations for our blessing, especially the table before entering the restaurant where we all sat. It was very unexpected and we were really touched. Thank you again.”
