Strathspey Lodge - Dog Friendly Cottage in Duthil, Highland
A beautifully presented detached Highland lodge comprising four large bedrooms and a nursery, tastefully finished with bespoke furniture and local artwork. Enjoying a peaceful setting within the hamlet of Duthil, near to Aviemore in the heart of the Cairngorms National Park, Strathspey Lodge commands stunning views across open countryside and on towards the Cairngorm mountain range.
Strathspey Lodge offers a stylish and cosy luxury retreat, while also providing all the benefits of modern open-plan family living. Arranged over three generous floors with a central combined kitchen, dining and living area, you have all the space you need to relax in your own space and come together at meal or drink time and enjoy the wonderful open plan accommodation with stunning views and cosy wood-burner stove.
Enjoy an al-fresco breakfast or late afternoon drinks and views from the wooden balcony accessed off the living area. Or alternatively take advantage of the garden terrace for a late afternoon drink and perhaps catch sight of some of the local deer and hare or watch the cattle graze in nearby fields. We have a babbling brook meandering through the garden area, offering a hypnotic accompaniment for those sundowners! All perfect after a day soaking up the cleansing Highland air of the Cairngorm National Park.
Strathspey Lodge is only two miles away from the village of Carrbridge with its historic packhorse bridge, and some fifteen minutes from Aviemore, the 'outdoor capital' of the Cairngorms. Pubs and restaurants are within easy reach. You can soak up the Highland hospitality in the Cairn Hotel, Carrbridge. Or for a luxury dining experience, the nearby Muckrach Hotel offers a great menu in refined surroundings. Only a mile up the road is the Lochanully Country Club, with its gym and swimming pool, while also offering the less energetic drinks and dining at Jake's Bar. For a real treat, try the fish and chip van on Friday evening in Carrbridge. Fuel your appetite with a drink at the Cairn Hotel first, of course!
On arrival you'll find a (very) welcome pack to help you settle in, with treats for adults and the kids: enjoy a glass of Prosecco, one of the fine local beers or kick back with a hot chocolate topped with marshmallows in front of the roaring wood-burner.
