The former Cider Mill (which dates back to the 17th century) has been fully renovated to a high standard. Lots of original features have been retained, yet you’ll have all the modern home comforts you’ll need to enjoy your holiday in Herefordshire. You’ll find wooden beams throughout – as well as modern wood flooring with underfloor heating to keep you warm and cosy all year round!

You enter Cider Cottage via the wonderful Victorian brick patio. Then it’s up a few stairs to the open-plan well-equipped kitchen, dining and lounge area. The lounge area has two comfy sofas – so you can have one each to curl up on and maybe watch a movie at the end of the day.

The dining area leads to a hallway and onto the secluded rear patio. Here you can enjoy breakfast and listen to the birdsong as you sip your morning tea or coffee. Then on warmer evenings you could sit and watch the sun go down or wonder at the dark night skies.

Up a few stairs from the lounge area is the bedroom with an ensuite wet room. The sumptuous king-size bed will be made up with quality bedding, all ready for you to sink into when you return from exploring the area. All that walking and fresh air that’s waiting for you should lead to a good night’s sleep!

“We booked Cider Cottage due to location and the fact it is dog friendly. So glad we did! The place is a joy. Really beautifully refurbished, warm and cosy. The kitchen is well appointed with all you need (microwave, oven, dishwasher etc). For those amongst us who raw feed their dogs there is even a four drawer freezer so you can store your supplies if staying longer than 4 days. There is a downstairs loo as well which is really convenient. The outside space is great with a small private yard out back but approx 12 acres of land available for the dogs to be exercised or taken for early morning/late night needs. In addition there is a public right of way which walks you across fields and in the general direction of the pub (albeit we didn't make it) and local village There is a communal BBQ and the hosts are building a pizza oven too. Nothing was too much trouble - and the hosts were very friendly and provided a lovely welcome basket of bread, cakes and breakfast items. The property is @ 15 mins from Monmouth, Ross-on-Wye and Ledbury to name a few places we visited with the Malverns about 40 mins away. There are three properties adjoining so if going with more than one family there is room to accommodate.”

“Gorgeous cottage in a stunning location to escape everyday stresses Edward and Marian were wonderful greeting us with a welcome basket containing lots of local produce. My partner and I were looking for an idyllic getaway and could not have picked a better place. The holiday cottage is located far away from any other property or main roads so you can hear the beauty of nature from the comfort of your room. I even heard an owl for the first time in my life! We were both impressed at the facilities within the property and the cottage has been refurbished to an incredibly high standard. The beds were large and comfortable and the shower and wet room relaxing and enjoyable to use. The hosts were friendly and helpful and kindly recommended different spots to discover on our days out and nothing is too much bother for them (the welcome basket catered to my partner's dietary requirements). As we were staying for a little while we needed some of our items washing. Although there isn't a washing machine within the cottage itself, there are washing facilities on site and the hosts were more than happy to do our washing and drying for us at no extra cost. A welcome treat to be honest after doing laundry at home! This was a much enjoyed trip away and I honestly couldn't think of anything negative to say about our stay here. ”

“The location of the cottage was perfect. Easy drive to Brecon Beacons, Wye Valley and Malvern Hills. Beautiful views from the property's patio. Welcome basket was waiting for us, full of some tasty goodies, including home made bread, cake and marmalade. They were all delicious. Lots of green space around the property for our dog to run around in. Lovely local pub The Royal Arms offering some delicious food. Beautiful and peaceful surrounding. Thank you to Marian and Edward.”
