Bare Bones K9 Training - Dog Trainer in  Liphook, Hampshire

Hi welcome, my name is Karen Wilson owner and head trainer of Bare Bones K9 Training based in Liphook, Hampshire.

I have always been lucky growing up around dogs however my venture into dog training started years ago when I started researching into purchasing the dog I have always wanted since I was 18, my Rottweiler. I can honestly say she taught me a great deal in ways I never thought would be possible. We had an amazing relationship, and, with her, I enjoyed many training expeditions such as General Obedience, Agility, Scent Work, Working Trials, introduction to Man Trailing, Parkour Training and the fabulous Hoopers.

“We’ve used Karen for 1-1 sessions when our puppy was too young for classes, her puppy 1 and puppy 2 classes and group walks. We would highly recommend Karen. She has a relaxed style. Offers so much support and guidance. Her tips and advice has been instrumental in making sure we are working on the right things with our pup. He’s nearly 10 months old and we plan to continue to use Karen, he is responding well to her direction. The classes are non judgemental and by that, I mean that when our pup isn’t keen on the content - Karen doesn’t judge us as owners, but finds a suitable alternative to keep our puppy engaged. This means a lot to us. It’s hard being a dog owner and we want to be the best we can, without feeling like we aren’t going very well :) Karen is approachable and uses her own experience with her dogs, which makes the content relatable and relevant. ”

“I cannot recommend Karen enough. We have a working cocker spaniel and have been working both 121 and in classes with Karen since the early weeks of bringing her home at a few months old (she's now nearly 18 months). Karen is highly knowledgeable and has helped us work through issues with separation anxiety, helping us provide our Luna with the tools to be able to finally stay home alone for a few hours without being distressed. In addition, to working through complex separation anxiety, we have been able to work everything from the basics a puppy should know such as sit, wait, recall off lead, right through to distant work, distraction work and agility / hoopers. Karen's nature is very easy going, she's always very accommodating and welcoming. Her own dogs are a credit to her and lovely to see too. Couldn't possibly recommend anyone else, the fact that we are still learning and building behaviours over a year later whilst working with Karen and our working cocker speaks volumes. Thank you Karen. ”
