Y Branwen - Dog Friendly Hotel in Harlech, Gwynedd
A super dog friendly, adult focussed and Gin obsessed venue for quality home made food. Snowdonia is a quiet and peacefull walkers paradise, perfect to chill and relax.
Y branwen nestles below the UNESCO World Heritage village of Harlech, with the Castle towering above and set within the Snowdonia National Park. Harlech's position on the northern part of breath-taking Cardigan Bay means there are miles of spectacular sandy beaches, mountains and forests only a few minutes walk away. The train station is a few moments walk and can take you to nearby Barmouth or Porthmadog along the stunning coastal line. At Porthmadog you can change onto the Heritage Railways to explore Snowdonia.
Snowdon itself is within sight on a fine day, but there are a vast array of other splendours to visit in the area, indeed you can spend days just walking in the hills above Harlech or our famous 5 mile long sandy beach.
The Royal St. David's Golf Course is opposite the hotel.
Alongside the hotel's 7 bedrooms is a Restaurant, Gin Bar, and off-street car park.
Dogs are welcomed throughout the property and all of the bedrooms (for a small suppliment).
Eat
Y branwen has a seasonal changing Restaurant menu, created with the freshest ingredients and made in house using local Welsh produce whenever possible. Please note that we don't cater for children at all as we are the quiet, chilled out, dog friendly location in the area to enjoy quality home made food or one of over 70 gins or other premium drinks in a relaxed environment.
Drink
The Gin Bar is the heart of Y Branwen. We proudly serve draught beers, ciders and excellent wines alongside hundreds of premium spirits.
We are proud of our Gin collection of over 70 Gins including ones from Wales and a whisky selection of more than 35. Our wide selection of drinks includes some rare finds that are no longer in production.
In winter the fire is the perfect place to spend an evening and in summer, the south-facing patio area is ideal to soak up the glorious sun.
Stay
All 7 rooms have super-king beds, luxurious toiletries and a fine selection of teas and coffee along with welcoming homemade biscuits.
We can offer Twin rooms but these can ONLY be booked directly with us and not via any site online.
We welcome dogs in all our rooms at £12/night supplement per dog/night. We are dog friendly throughout the premises and are not suitable for anyone with dog allergies.
Wi-fi is available free of charge but as in most venues in Snowdonia is variable and is worse when it rains!
The Executive and larger Executive rooms are well worth the small amount extra for longer stays having more space and their own coffee machines.
