- Sheltered bays , away from any roads
- Very quiet outside school holidays
- Plenty of sand for throwing balls
The bays at Borth-Y-Gest are accessed along the coastal path from the village of Borth-Y-Gest, and are nice and sheltered in most conditions, they can get very busy in the summer holidays , but outside these times they are usually fairly empty. You can walk from here further along the coastal path onto Sampsons bay (sand again), and round the corner to Black rock Sands (also sandy) at Morfa Bychan. However during the season there is a dog ban on the middle section of Black rock Sands, so if you wanted to walk further you would have to go up into Morfa Bychan village to get round it, from there you can walk round to the next beach which is stony unless the tide is out, but does lead all the way to Cricieth where there is a very nice ice cream shop just below the castle
