A quiet 600-yard path leads to dog-friendly pubs in Stow, the nearest being The Bell Inn and The Porch House and then in the town’s market square The Stag and The Old Stocks.

You and your dog can enjoy great walks from the cottage door. Maugersbury is on the Macmillan Way trail, which passes through the wonderful villages of Lower Slaughter to the west and Upper Oddington and Lower Oddington to the east. It is also easy to get on to the Oxfordshire Way, Gloucestershire Way and Monarch's Way, all of which lead through beautiful Cotswold villages and countryside. Yet another footpath leads southward from Maugersbury to Icomb and the reward for this effort is the stunning view back towards Stow-on-the-Wold.
