About Me
The essential things you need to know about me are as follows; I'll remember your dogs name before yours, I'll sit on the floor rather than disturb the dog in my chair and I've been drawing dogs for as long as I can remember.

My first love was Snoopy, I learnt to draw making notebooks and greeting cards for my family with pictures of Snoopy and Woodstock.  I was very young at the time so a lot of the humour went over my head, but I grew up reading the comics and had a huge collection of books. I still enjoy a Snoopy comic strip today and often dive into my old book collection.

I think a lot of my observations on interactions between dogs and humans stems from my love of Snoopy and the subtle details found within the stories.

Awards
I have won some lovely awards, including a best new product award in 2016 at the Spring Fair in Scotland for my 'Today I will be...' range of greeting cards.

And in 2017 I won the trophy for best charity calendar for my work on the Helping Paws Dog Rescue calendar. It beat the naked rowers calendar...just saying!

Commission's
My process is quite simple, I work from photographs sent to me by you, we agree a date, I take a small deposit and you pay the balance when you've seen the final painting.

At the moment, this year and next year, I'm open twice a year for commission work.

Illustration Work
I licensed my first work, a repeat pattern of sketchy watercolour dogs for Dicky Bag, back in 2017, I'm pleased to say, it's still one of their best selling designs.

I work with businesses, individuals and charities to create greeting cards, maps, movie posters and fabric designs, anything you care to think of, I'm happy to chat about your ideas.

“I got recommended to Jo by a mutual friend, after showing me some of her previous work. I was looking for two pictures of a friend's Poodle's for their birthday, so spent several visits to my friend trying frantically to photograph the lovely doggies, who of course wouldn't sit still. Jo was great and was able to give me instructions as to the type of image that would work well for her to paint. Once she had these, it only took her a week to have the portraits painted and an email with snaps of them so I could see. Marvellous! So exciting to see the photos transformed in Jo's fabulous style. The original A5 portraits arrived the next day, well presented in mounts and cellophane ready to gift wrap to my friend. I couldn't fault any part of the process, communication and the end result was just gorgeous!!”

“A friend introduced me to Jo's work and I could immediately see that she captured the character of the animals she painted perfectly. I commissioned her to paint one of my dogs for my birthday present and we worked together to get the style, colour palette and the character of my dog just right. It is the most perfect and wonderful gift to me, EVER. I smile every time I look at her on the wall, and love it! It is a great gift for anyone who has ever had a pet, and from cards to commissions, Jo works really hard to make sure that everything she does is just perfect. A great find! ”

“I saw that Jo was Helping Paws and asked if she would be able to paint my cat, Cato. Within the hour I had sent the photo and from then, was in constant contact, being updated to his painted progress. When I received the email to make sure I was ok with it before it went to print I was absolutely chuffed, Jo had captured his colours, eyes, basically everything so well, I decided to buy the original as well as the cards. I will certainly recommend and buy for friends and family in the future.”

“I ordered as a gift for my mother 2 packs of cards of her two dogs. I also as a treat got a pack of cards done of my dog done too. When the cards arrived they were much better quality than I expected for the price! I received an email a week after I sent the photos to show me what the pictures had come out like and then the cards arrived a week or so after that. I was kept informed at each stage of the process and everything arrived in pristine condition. They have made wonderful gifts - my mother loves them! Last week I bought the original artwork that was painted for the cards. They arrived yesterday. I am so pleased and I know that they are going to look fantastic in frames. I really can't believe the price of the original artwork - so inexpensive for the quality. Whether it's a treat for yourself or a gift - I highly recommend this company! Juliet ”
