The George Inn - Dog Friendly Pub in Robertsbridge, East Sussex
Standing with pride in the village of Robertsbridge, this former 18th Century Coaching Inn is now a dog friendly pub which serves home cooked food and drinks using the best local suppliers we have in this area.
Located near the fabulous towns of Hastings, Royal Tunbridge Wells and Battle, and with four Bed & Breakfast rooms, as part of the Sawday's Special Places to Stay, The George is an ideal base from which to explore the diverse counties of Kent and Sussex.
We are surrounded by various National Trust properties, beautiful gardens, quaint villages and not forgetting our wonderful 1066 historic coastline. After the year we have all experienced, why not treat yourself to an escape away from it all and let us look after you?
We have our own car park in front of The George and additional free parking is available in the High Street. The train station is a short 10 minute walk away, providing direct access to London Charing Cross as well as Royal Tunbridge Wells, historic Battle and the coastal towns of Rye and Hastings. We also welcome cyclists and we have a bike rack at the front of the building as well as secure storage for bikes if you are staying overnight.
Food & drink
Celebrating the best Sussex and Kent produce available, whether it is our favourite, Tempura Cod (landed Rye or Hastings) with crispy fat chips, slow roasted Gloucester Old Spot Pork Belly, Romney Salt Marsh Lamb, our own homemade chargrilled Burgers made from Sussex Beef, one of our fabulous sharing platters or one of our gorgeous homemade puddings, our principle is to use the best local produce sourced within 30 miles.
Being surrounded by rich countryside and coast, the variety and quality of our local produce is astounding. So, whether you are savoury specialist or a closet dessert fiend your taste buds will be well and truly tickled! Chocoholics beware by the way, as The George Chocolate Loveliness will always surprise you!
In addition, locally grown and pressed juices, award winning wines from nearby vineyards as well handpicked wines from around the world and distinctive ales from Sussex brewers await you at the bar. And for those special seasonal treats, how about mulled wine in front of the log fire, or one of our 12 special Gins, including 5 local ones, perfectly served with Fever Tree Tonic, or a classic Summer Pimms in the courtyard! Cheers!
