Scruffy Pups operates from a bespoke Shepherd’s Hut in Eastbourne on the edge of the South Downs and caters for all aspects of the dog's needs from temperament, age and behaviour, in a holistic, relaxed, patient and friendly environment.
Owner Katie specialises in working dog breeds and their cross breeds which are a personal passion alongside supporting rescue dogs, nervous dogs and puppies to introduce them into the grooming experience.
Katie is passionate about the environment, avoiding products from single use plastic and where possible, switching to bamboo or sustainable products.
About
Living and growing up in a Small Village in East Sussex I was able to venture into all aspects of country life. The daily walk over the downs with my beloved Jack Russell Chilli and Patterdale Travis passed the times and melted the worries away.
As a former Intensive Care Nurse and a Respiratory Specialist Nurse for 20 years, the walks relieved all aspects of stress. Now living in Eastbourne, the South Downs is still a vital part of my day with my beloved Sproodles, Daisy and Floss.

“I took my 2 year old Springer Spaniel to see Katie today and I couldn't be more happy with the results. I asked for him to have a summer cut but I didn't want it too short as I like the springer look! Katie talked me through the options and how we could trim the feathers and shape his ears but leave the body with a little more length. Katie showed me other grooms she had done and I was fortunate to meet her beautiful sproodles who had recently been groomed too. “My rescue terrier had her first ever session with a groomer today, after 13 years of my attempting to beautify her. Just the teeth today. Step 1. Baby steps... She's a nervous dog, but Katie/Scruffy Pups was wonderful with her and I had no qualms leaving her there in the cool shepherd's hut. Katie is lovely and did an excellent job. The pooch welcomed us home from the school run later and did the usual "pin down, lick face/nostrils/inside of mouth' routine and not one of us fainted from the smell or even retched. A first. A success! Her previously toxic breath was no more. She's going back next week. Thoroughly recommended! ”
