Ringstead Bay - Dog Friendly Beach in Ringstead, Dorset
Ringstead Bay is a long arc, unspoilt and tranquil in the bright sunshine that I encountered for this spring visit.Sitting just west of Durdle Door and part of Dorset’s Jurassic Coastline, this is a haven for wildlife and a place to reflect and unwind.
There’s an invigorating walk back up to the car park and isolation is part of the appeal of Ringstead Bay.
Ringstead Bay is a small, crescent beach near the hamlet of Ringstead.
It’s a quiet spot that’s easy to get to, with a family feel, a hundred metres or so from the car park.
The beach itself is shingle, looking out over Weymouth Bay, across to the Isle of Portland.
Children can adventure between the beach and the Ringstead Ledge, a small outcrop of rock which appears only when the tide is low.
Highly recommended.
