Norburton Hall Cottages - Dog Friendly Cottages in Bridport, Dorset
Less than a mile from the spectacular Jurassic coast, Norburton Hall lies tucked away in the iconic West Dorset village of Burton Bradstock. There have been dwellings here since at least the early seventeenth-century when a farm stood on the southern slopes looking towards the sea. The remains of the earliest buildings still survive in the heart of Norburton in the inglenook fireplaces and original walls.
More than a century later Norburton is still a family home welcoming guests in two of the beautifully converted self-catering holiday cottages in its grounds. Perfect for walkers, families, and couples, it offers home-from-home comfort in idyllic surroundings. Tucked away yet close to local amenities in the village and nearby market town of Bridport, winter or summer, the self-catering cottages are an ideal base from which to set out and explore.
The Hayloft (Sleeps 2)
Lofty, spacious accommodation with exposed beams and much original character makes the Hayloft an ideal holiday retreat for couples looking for a rural idyll.
Built from the same local stone as Norburton Hall, the building is thought to date back to before the 1800s and has been converted into a comfortable one-bedroom apartment. Access to this single-level cottage is via six steps leading up to the front door.
Pet-friendly: Well-behaved pets are welcome in The Hayloft and The Shippen. With or without a dog, strolls through the village to the beach are always popular. The cottage areas are fully gated and fenced to keep your dog safe. Guests are also welcome to bring wormed, vaccinated and well-behaved dogs into the private grounds of Norburton Hall to stretch their legs.
