Here at Poochies in Bournemouth we LOVE dogs and want your dog to love coming to see us at Poochies too.

Poochies is all about providing high quality dog grooming in a loving, calm and relaxed atmosphere. Your dog will be given all the time and gentle care required to ensure he or she has a happy and stress free experience in our fully air conditioned studio.

We understand that every dog is an individual and comes to the grooming salon with their own unique experiences; we promise to carefully assess each dog and tailor our grooming services to their individual needs. Our priority is always the comfort, safety and happiness of your dog.
 


Our Grooming Studio
Our modern, pristine, high quality studio provides a comfortable and safe environment for your dog to be bathed and styled. We operate an appointment system so dogs are not left waiting for long periods causing unnecessary stress. Throughout the studio a calm relaxed atmosphere is further enhanced by the use of Lisa Spector’s classical music Through a Dog’s Ear which is the only clinically researched auditory series for canine anxiety

Our grooming salon has a custom designed bathing area. The split level design is particularlyhelpful for our less sprightly friends. We’ve also have air conditioning throughout the studio to ensure your dog’s comfort whatever the weather.

We use only the highest quality, specialist canine shampoos, conditioners and colognes; individually tailored to skin and coat type, so your dog will not only look and smell lovely, but feel great too. We are proud of our studio and clients are welcome to come in and see what our groomers do, just ask at reception.



About Us
Poochies is owned and run by the proprietor, Ella Allitt. Thank you for visiting the Poochies’ website. Let me introduce myself. In addition to a lifelong love of dogs I have enjoyed years of experience working in the pet care industry and been involved with the care of homeless dogs for rescue charities. As well as holding a relevant City and Guilds qualification in dog grooming I keep myself up to date with the latest developments in the field by attending related seminars and exhibitions by world class dog groomers.

Formerly a hospital staff nurse, Poochies is the realisation of my lifelong ambition to work with dogs full time in a caring environment. It is particularly important to me to ensure that all dogs receive the kindness and care that their owners would want for them in their own home. Dogs will always be treated well and if it comes to a choice between taking extra time or rushing the dog; then here at Poochies we will always take all the time necessary to ensure the comfort and well being of your dog.

I have had the privilege of sharing my life with many dogs over the years and am currently the proud owner of two gorgeous boys, Alfie and Dillon who enjoy coming to the studio with me every day and meeting all their new friends
