Bakers Mill Farm Holiday Cottages

 

Beautiful, peaceful location to unwind and relax. We are located within Dorset's Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, on an early 17th century working farm covering 200 acres, a haven for wildlife, with amazingly dark night skies for watching the stars. Surrounding a courtyard featuring a rill to add to the ambience, our cottages have been sympathetically restored from former farm buildings. The local village pub and shop are about 15 minutes walk along a quiet country lane.

Six luxurious cottages accommodate from 2 - 21 and dogs are welcome in all.

Perfectly located on the Dorset/Devon/Somerset border we are close to the Jurassic coast and old market towns of Beaminster, Bridport, Dorchester, Lyme Regis, Sherborne and Weymouth.



Threshers Barn (sleeps 6)
Our Grade 2 listed stone  barn retains its original looks from the outside. Light and airy with a large gallery landing and high vaulted ceilings in the sitting area give this barn a definite 'wow' factor.

The Wheatsheaf (sleeps 2)
 Popular with couples and great for dogs with its enclosed garden directly accessible from the back door. Dual aspect double bedroom with vaulted ceilings, super-king size bed which may be converted to twin beds. En-suite bathroom with shower over bath.

The kitchen is a spacious open plan room, also dual aspect, with high vaulted ceilings with exposed beams
full size oven and hob, fridge freezer, microwave and washing machine. Dining table seats 4 (useful if you are sharing with another cottage) sitting area.

The back door from the kitchen leads to the enclosed garden laid to grass with a picnic table for alfresco dining. BBQ



Harvest Cottage - wheelchair accessible. (Sleeps 4 plus 2)
This cottage is very suitable for wheelchair users or mobility impaired. It is very spacious and light, all on one level with ramp to the double doors. Fully equipped large kitchen with dining table for 6 - 8. Dishwasher, washing machine, fridge freezer, microwave and full size oven and hob, sitting room through arch from kitchen with higher upright armchair along with relaxing armchair and settee which can convert to sofa bed if desired.

Millers Cottage (sleeps 3)
A lovely cottage for a family with one child or for friends staying together where a larger cottage is not required. Ideal for those with dogs as it has a large enclosed garden accessible from the back door with direct access onto the public footpath.

The Granary (sleeps 2)
This is a delightful, charming cottage with the rill running outside the door; perfect to sit out and relax in the evenings, listening to the sound of the flowing water and watching the night sky.

The bedroom is upstairs and has a vaulted ceiling with exposed beams and a beautiful king size sleigh bed (there are stairs inside the cottage too!). shower room downstairs

Kitchen facilities include a full size oven and hob, fridge freezer, microwave. washing machine the sitting room is very cosy, with a low beamed ceiling dining table and chairs. A picnic table is provided outside the door by the rill. BBQ.



The Cobb (sleeps 2)
Situated next to the wildlife pond this cottage is on one level and very spacious. Bright and airy due to its dual aspect with high vaulted ceilings and exposed beams.

Very large double bedroom has a super-king size bed but this may be separated out to form two single divans, en-suite bathroom with shower over bath

Large kitchen with full size oven and hob, fridge freezer, microwave and washing machine. Extending dining table seats 4 - 6 (ideal if sharing with another cottage) sitting area open plan with the kitchen

The Cobb's garden is accessed via a path around the side of the cottage past the wildlife pond, It is enclosed and laid to lawn
BBQ, patio table and chairs are provided for alfresco dining along side the pond and rill
