Babbacombe Model Village is one of Torquay's top attractions
Adults love the humorous representation of British life over the last six decades and the award-winning gardens.
Children love all the miniature characters and enjoy following the spotter sheet to see what they can find (pick up your free spotter on arrival)
If you haven't been for a while, several new models have opened in the last few years - including our popular Paignton Zoo model, a west country fishing village, the peek inside house and our new Celebrity Mansion - come and see who you can spot!. Our new Canal & Narrow boat display opened in 2017. A major new city display is opening in 2018.
Also, Animated 'Arry who talks to visitors as they pass by. This is our first miniature talking resident with fully synchronised mouth movement.
Our miniature world is full of model scenes and all kinds of goings on, there is much humour and animated displays - it is very important to take your time or you will miss a lot!
The village portrays English life and culture over the last 6 decades and is sure to bring to life those childhood memories!
Over 400 models of houses, stately homes, factories, shops, entertainment venues, environmental features. There are a variety of architectural styles from medieval through Shakespearean to Victorian, along with railways, vehicles and some well known monuments and landmarks. Not forgetting, of course, 13,000 miniature people who live in the village.
SOUND AND ANIMATION HELP TO BRING IT ALL TO LIFE!
Some of the more favourite models include: the house on fire, Stonehenge, a fire breathing dragon, the model railway, the football stadium and the beach and lake, complete with its own naturist beach (summer months only of course!).
To add an extra dimension of fun, humour prevails throughout the park. Some very obvious, some very subtle, but one visit is never enough to spot it all. For example; Annie Seedballs - the confectioners shop; Can you spot the man mowing the lawn - he has been mowing the same patch for over 20 years! Can you spot the ghost in the tower - many visitors in a hurry miss it!
If you haven't been for a few years, maybe it's time for another visit.
The best advice we can give is TAKE YOUR TIME, we promise that you will get so much more out of your visit if you allow plenty of time (at least two hours) and maybe even go around twice.
