This extended walk takes the total distance up to just 3 miles....well worth it!

Cross over the steam railway bridge designed and built by Brunel for the Great Western Railway. Follow the marked footpath alongside the railway line then turn right through a small gate....(remember to close the gate). Walk along the narrow road beside the creek. Take a look back at the banjo to see that it is supported by tall concrete pillars. It was built in 1961 to create extra space for vehicles to turn. take in the beauty of the creek and the variety of birds. Carry on until you see a path down via wooden steps to the green area at the head of the creek. This green area is Jubilee Park. Plenty of benches to sit and admire the view. Now follow the path along the southern edge of the creek back towards Darthaven Marina and the bridge back up to the banjo.

“These instructions are too vague. There are important bits of detail missing. Such as having to cross back over the railway line and that the narrow lane is on the left for example. ”
