Here at the tea room, just opposite the mill itself, we bake a selection of delicious cakes, biscuits and scones every day. We are Coeliac friendly; gluten-free options are always available. (Sorry but dogs are not allowed in mill)
Hele Corn Mill (or 'Old Corn Mill') is a unique working watermill in north Devon! Just a stone's throw away from stunning Hele Bay, a visit to the mill makes a perfect family day out whatever the weather!

Guided tours are given by the family who run the mill, and children and adults alike will enjoy learning about the history of the mill, from how flour has been made here over the centuries, to some of the mishaps which have befallen the millers! To keep children entertained we have a photo quiz, 'find the mice' and 'count the millstone' challenges.

One of the highlights of our tour is our 1920s National engine which is in full working order and can be demonstrated for you in our guided tours. Unfortunately our doggie visitors are NOT ALLOWED IN THE MILL but are welcome in the tearoom and tea gardens



We returned to milling on the waterpowered stones in 2012 and demonstration days will be posted on the website. For milling small quantities of flour, we also use the Blackstone mill to create whole grain flour which you can purchase in our gift shop.

Opposite the mill is the charming tea room, where you can relax and enjoy traditional cream tea or a slice of one of our many delicious cakes, which are homemade every day! We offer fruit and plain scones, wholemeal scones, and the traditional Devonshire Splits for a truly traditional Devon cream tea. For a cream tea with a twist, why not try out savoury cream tea with cheese scones, cream cheese and homemade onion marmalade?

Adjacent to the tea room is the Dog Friendly Miller's Cottage which is available for holiday bookings all year round.

Ideally located just a two minute walk from Hele Bay beach and a mile from the seaside town of Ilfracombe, the Miller's Cottage is a perfect dog friendly holiday home for families and walkers alike. We are pet-friendly. Please let us know if you'd like to bring your dog!

Adjacent to Hele Corn Mill, the cottage features two bedrooms, a bathroom with both a bath and shower, a kitchen with a patio overlooking the stream and a sitting room with a wood burner, perfect for cosy nights by the fire.
