Badgers Den Holiday Cottage - Dog Friendly Holiday Cottage in Budleigh Salterton, Devon

Situated in East Devon, on the edge of Knowle village, near the coastal town of Budleigh Salterton, Badgers Den Holiday cottage, a grade II listed Thatched cottage, is ideally placed to enjoy the Beautiful Devon countryside and coast. The owners Leo & Mandy Dickinson live next door in Fudge Cottage.

The Cottage is furnished to a very high standard, with a well equipped kitchen providing all the modern conveniences.  Badgers Den can be hired as a two bedroom cottage or three bedroom with extra en-suite, sleeping up to six people plus a baby in the cot.  We do accept pets for a small charge.

The area has something to offer everyone with local beaches, walking the Jurassic coastline, or on the nearby Woodbury Common, birdwatching on the Exe and the Otter Estuary Nature reserve. There are also a number of excellent golf courses, a riding stables, Bicton Gardens with its miniature railway and Crealy Adventure Park.

The cottage also makes an ideal base for visiting further afield. Dartmoor is less than an hour drive, Exeter has its Cathedral, designer shops and bistros, and there are many National Trust and similar properties nearby. The Eden Project or the Gardens of Heligan in Cornwall can be visited on a day trip.

A welcome Devon cream tea is provided on arrival for all week long bookings. We have created a local information guide which has ideas and information on local activities, walks and restaurants. Badger’s Den is a non-smoking establishment with off road parking available for up to two cars.

Pets
Budleigh is a very dog friendly place, and you will often see dogs in pubs or banks often with their owners. In our experience dog owners are some of the most considerate holidaymakers and are more than happy to abide by some basic house rules.

We ask that dogs are kept off the furniture and out of bedrooms. Dogs are welcome in the garden which is secure. Naturally all faeces should be cleared up and suitable disposed of during your stay. There is a £10 per week or part week supplement for each dog.

Local Walks
We are privileged to live near to seven commons – Dalditch, Shortwood, East Budleigh, Lympstone, Bicton, Colaton Raleigh and Woodbury these areas are also known as the Pebblebed Heaths an area of over 102 hectares. All wonderful areas to explore for dog walking, Jogging and taking in the views which begin only 1/2 mile from Badgers Den. There are many archaeological sites the most significant being the Iron Age Woodbury Castle.
