Dog Friendly Cottages in Wirksworth, Derbyshire

Stainsborough Hall has five dog-friendly holiday cottages providing a perfect base for an idyllic country getaway for the whole family.

The five independent cottages are all located around one courtyard, but private entrances, meter-thick walls, and separate terraces mean that you feel like you are totally alone (if you want to be). The Cottages have either two or three bedrooms and are ideal for families.​

What to Expect:
South-facing cottages overlooking stunning scenery
Log Burners in all cottages - Underfloor heating in all cottages (except Lathkill where there are radiators)
Free Wi-fi throughout (this is the countryside, so speeds can vary)
Dog-Friendly, with fenced terraces - Tennis court - Games Room with table tennis table
Children's play area - Direct access to Carsington Water
Private off-road parking - Quiet location away from main roads

Derwent Cottage  (Sleeps 6 +1 cot)
Derwent is one of the larger cottages featuring three double bedrooms that can be configured with either double or single beds.

Dovedale Cottage  (Sleeps 6)
Dovedale is also a three double bedroom cottage that can be configured with either double or single beds.

Henmore Cottage  (Sleeps 4 +1 cot)
Henmore cottage is over two floors with the living area, kitchen, and bathroom on the ground floor and two bedrooms on the first floor.

Summer Cottage (Sleeps 4 +1 cot)
Summer Cottage is a large two-bedroom cottage, spread over two floors, with both bedrooms upstairs

When all of the cottages are hired by a single group, Summer cottage is large enough to become the communal dining and living area - if you want a larger table please ask us in advance.

Lathkill Cottage (Sleeps 3 +1 cot)
Lathkill is our smallest two-bedroom cottage and the only cottage all on one level.

This tranquil estate is located on the shore of Carsington Water, with direct access to the traffic-free trail around the reservoir, making it an ideal retreat for walkers, cycling, and holidaymakers looking to take advantage of the stunning scenery. And while the cottages are set in a stunning rural and remote location, local attractions such as the Heights of Abraham, Cromford, Matlock, Ashbourne, and The Peak District National Park are all within easy reach.  ​

Our nearest country pub is a one-mile walk away across the fields where you'll be met with some lovely food and warm welcome.
