The Chequers Inn - Dog Friendly Touring Park in Derby, Derbyshire

Situated at the rear of the pub next to open fields and view overlooking horses & ponies going about their daily business.

Dogs are very welcome and it is possible to walk for miles across the open Derbyshire countryside without having to encounter any busy roads or traffic. Wildlife of all kinds are common sights close by with Buzzards Red Kites Deer Foxes and Badgers amongst some of the birds and wild animals you are likely to see.

We offer five touring caravan pitches and one tent pitch all with electric hook up facility. Drinking water point along with chemical toilet and grey water disposal sceptic tank and rubbish bins are all very close by. Upon checking in you will be handed a welcome pack and a key which allows 24 hour access to use the toilet and hand wash facilities in our pub.

The Pub
The Chequers Inn is situated in the affluent picturesque village of Stanton by Dale and is easily accessed by both Derby and Nottingham Cities with a short 6 mile drive. Dating back to 1880 it is a traditional drinking establishment steeped in character and charm. It is ideally situated for some excellent walks and rambles. Our focus is on tradition providing “ a proper pub serving proper beer with proper homemade food and snacks for proper like-minded people”.

We are dog friendly and as recent as last year we were voted second in the whole of the East Midlands for the most “ Dog Friendly Pubs Award” narrowly missing out on a chance to win the title for this prestigious national award.
