Lakeland Motor Museum - Dog Friendly Attraction in Newby Bridge, Cumbria

The Lakeland Motor Museum has a fascinating collection of over 30,000 cars, motorcycles, scooters, cycles and auto memorabilia and is housed in a restored mill and ultramarine pigment factory in the heart of The Lake District. Dogs are welcome in all areas of the museum except our cafe area.

Highlights of the museum include a Campbell Bluebird Exhibition with a fascinating display about the record-breaking Campbell family who captured 21 world land and water speed records. Housed within a special display, replicas of the record-breaking vehicles are on show with audio-visual displays and memorabilia from their record-breaking attempts.

Other special displays include an Isle of Man TT tribute, a huge range of children’s pedal cars and cycles, a Vincent Motorcycle display plus hundreds of authentic automobilia.

In addition to the fascinating exhibits from the world of motoring, the museum also features displays about the local Lakeland motoring heritage, period shopping displays, electric cars and cycles and the history of Old Blue Mill that now houses the collection.

With plenty of free car and coach parking, a riverside café on site, educational quiz and museum shop, the museum is a great all-weather attraction and is easily accessible via car or coach. A boat service with a free shuttle bus service from Windermere Lake Cruises’ Lakeside Pier is also available for most of the year and joint tickets are available.
