The boutique is stocked to offer you something a bit different, from independent companies as well as the more recognised brands that we feel will give you a wealth of choice. To compliment this we have a one to one grooming salon where we aim to look after your dog in a friendly and welcoming environment whether it be for a full groom or a quick bath!

Our boutique is stocked to offer you brands you recognise such as Mason Cash, Crufts toys and Scruffs beds. We also stock personally selected independent companies such as Hiro & Wolf, Scoff Paper and Sniffe & Likkit offering you and your furry pal a wealth of choice.

We are always on the look out for new ideas, so if you have any suggestions or are looking for something doggie specific come on in a speak to us and we can try and hunt it down for you.

Our story
We are sisters Laura and Anna Dixon, and in the summer of 2019 after nearly 20 years we sold our family business, a bed and breakfast in Ambleside. Our parents retired which left us both looking for something new to take us into the next chapter.

As sisters one of the constant loves in our lives had always been our family dogs. Combining this with our hospitality experience, our love of both shopping and the Kendal high street and our wish to do something together the idea of The Dog House sprung to life.

Laura trained, gaining an OCN qualification in dog grooming as well as City and Guild Levels 2 and 3 in dog grooming all from The Canine Groom School near Clitheroe. Anna spent this time sourcing fabulous products from all kinds of companies with the aim of keeping both dogs and their humans happy.

We hope in The Dog House we have created a warm, friendly and relaxed place for you all to visit time and again!
