The Olde House  - Dog Friendly Cottages in Wadebridge, Cornwall

Here at The Olde House, we offer self-catering farm holiday cottages in North Cornwall, all just a short drive from the fishing villages of Padstow and Port Isaac.

Situated on a 550-acre working farm in the pretty village of Chapel Amble, our farm holiday cottages are surrounded by luscious North Cornwall countryside, perfect for family breaks. Sandy beaches like Polzeath, Rock and Daymer Bay are just a short drive away for the full Cornish coastal experience.

Most of our farm holiday cottages are dog-friendly too, so four-legged friends are more than welcome to join in.

We offer free activities for all the family during school holidays, and we also have plenty of ideas for things to do in the area.

Amble Farm Shop
Amble Farm Shop is our own honesty shop for guests staying here at The Olde House. Situated opposite Reception and the swimming pool entrance, next to Penpont Store. We sell our own home reared Penpont Farm beef, pork and honey, as well as all the basics which as far as possible are sourced from local Cornish businesses: bread, butter, milk, eggs, bacon, juice, drinks, yoghurt, cheese.

Frozen goods include items such as croissants, pizzas, pasties & ice cream. Dry goods include pasta, crackers, crisps, sauces, tea and much more. We also have a selection of toiletries, gifts, charcoal for your BBQ, firelighters, matches and swim nappies. We have recently started selling a selection of alcoholic beverages: Camel Valley brut, prosecco, wine, Doom Bar, Korev and Rattler cider as well as Cornish gin & rum.

Dog Washing Station
Somewhere to clean your dogs up after a long, muddy walk!
Just around the corner from Reception you will find the dog washing area. You can secure your dog to the handy ring on the wall while you give them a rinse over! Alternative uses… wellies, wheelchair wheels, mucky children! We also have grey towels to borrow from Penpont Store to rub your dogs down with after their shower.

Swimming Pool & Spa
Our indoor swimming pool and spa area is open every day all year round.

Our beautiful indoor swimming pool and spa area is at the heart of The Olde House site, and just a short walk from our farm cottages here in Cornwall. Whatever the weather, or for chill out after a day at one of our local beaches, our pool is always open!

Swimming Pool - The new pool, at 7m x 15m, is over 50% bigger than our old pool and features a toddler pool with playful water features. The swimming pool and spa area is heated to 31 degrees. The depth ranges from 1m to 1.35m, perfect for all the family.

Spa Area - The spa area includes a Jacuzzi, sauna and steam room.

Games Room and Lounge
Our fun games room and lounge area is based in the space that used to be home to our first swimming pool. Now you can unwind in the lounge which is the viewing area for the swimming pool, and older children and big kids (mum & dad!) can get competitive in the games room!

Enjoy some peace & quiet, reading the papers in the comfy lounge whilst keeping an eye on your children in the swimming pool. Alternatively, there is a large TV if you fancy watching live sport or even a movie!

On days when the weather prevents you getting out and about in North Cornwall, the games room is a great place for all generations to get together & play on the pool table, air hockey, table tennis or table football.

Indoor Play Barn and Adventure Playground
Our indoor play barn will keep kids entertained, whatever the weather. The Indoor Play Barn is a big hit with our guests under 10 years. Redesigned in recent years, it now has 3 levels of climbing fun along with slides and tunnels to keep the kids busy on a rainy day. There is a separate, smaller area for toddlers.

We want to make our farm holidays as child friendly as possible, and with both indoor and outdoor play areas, children staying at The Olde House are never short of entertainment on the farm.

Outside there is a large Adventure Playground with climbing frames, tunnels and slides. The Adventure Playground is always open whilst the Indoor Play Barn is open from 9am – 9pm.
